How to Get Out of the Rat Race by Blogging

Rat race is a reality and its not actually a problem. Getting out of the rat race is a “want” and not a “need”. You can still be happy if you are still living in the rat race.

But wait ;what is a “rat race”? It is situation where you need to find an employer to survive. To survive means to pay the bills, buy some food, clothing, shelter and medicine. If you have kids, you need to work to finance the education and support of your kids. Its not actually very simple. A lot of families ends up in big trouble and swamped with debts as they struggle to survive in the rat race.

Actually, to solve the rat race issue; you need to do some adjustments in your own life. If you like to get out of the rat race, there are still a lot of “hard work” to be done. If you hate “hard work” you are not deserving to lived either “in” and “out” of the race. This world requires you to exert an enormous amount of hard work to get the results you need and to get the approval of the persons you are working with (regardless if you are in and out of the rat race).

Back to the question: “How do you get out of the rat race by blogging?”. Follow the steps below:

1.) Start by selecting your expert topic. Something that you can write more than 5000 post of your entire life with each post contains at least 600 words. If you are not confident that you can write this amount of content; then its not your expert topic.

It’s very easy. For example if you are working in a financial sector; say you are a day trader. You can blog about trading, money management, finance tips, etc and its easy to write more than 5000 post about it. It is because you are an expert of that topic and you have a lot of working experiences to share with.

2.) Register a domain. A domain name is very important. Use a catchy/relevant domain names but no spammy domain names. For example, if you have expertise in money management and stock trading and you would like to share your experience by blogging; you can choose like “stock-trading.net”, “stock-trading.com”, “stock-trading.org”, etc. For example this blog, I have decided to use the domain name stock-trading.me. Not all domains are available, choose the one that is available for you. You can go to godaddy.com and register your domain. There are also other places to register your domain not only Godaddy.

One big mistake of selecting a domain name is using your own name. Unless if your name is carrying some brand such as you are a celebrity then its fine. But if you are blogging to share your experience and expertise you should use a relevant domain name such as the one illustrated previously.

3.) Develop your website. Once you have a domain, you need to purchase a web hosting. Godady for example offers web hosting but again there are a lot of web hosting companies that you can choose. The most recommended software that you will use for your blogging is WordPress. Most hosting companies offers a one-click install feature and once your hosting is setup you can start blogging right away.

4.) Write a blog post on a daily basis. I recommend you should write on a daily basis. Your content should be original and aims to educate your readers. Aim for something like 600 words excluding pictures in your post.

5.) Add Google Adsense, Infolinks or Amazon affiliates in your blog. These are money making instruments that will monetize your content. Read for some tips in the internet for the placement of these ads for best result.

6.) Implement SEO in your website. Read more about SEO, I encourage you to be a member of forums.seochat.com and you can read a lot of tips on how you can increase your rankings in search engines. Remember this: no rankings – no traffic – no money.

7.) Build an online reputation. Now that you are continually writing great post, try to connect with your society. Find some friends on the net that shares the same interest as you and ask them to put a link to your website or participate in some banner exchange. Look for friends with excellent and quality website only.

8.) Just like any other business, blogging requires you to continually improve your website. Read more tips on the net such as how to further make money out of your blog, etc. Read for some latest SEO practices to make sure you blog is up to date with respect to marketing.

So can you really get out of the rat race by blogging? The answer depends on your talent and hard work. Some bloggers can earn $75 a day from Adsense or other monetary means after 3 years of very hard work. That just translates to $2250 per month income. Now if you can live frugally and you can only spend 60% of your entire monthly income, then you are already out of the rat race! If you think you can’t; then blogging is not your main talent. Find some talent which will lead your path to getting out of the rat race. Warren Buffet uses his investing talent, Bill Gates uses his computer programming skills, Steve Jobs uses his electronic hardware talents, Mark Zuckerberg uses his web development talents. These people are just the same as you only that they took the bolder risk in choosing their lifetime passion instead of sticking to the regular and boring rat race routine. At this time, you are your own boss- no fears about job security, retrenchments, salary deduction, waking up daily at 6am, working “forced” overtimes, etc. You can blog anytime or enjoying things all the time in your life at your own will.
